Hello my pretties, hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I had a nice holiday, although Memorial Day itself turned out to be a bit of a bummer, towards the end. Overall, I watched several decent movies (Prince of Persia, Imaginarium of Dr. Parnasuss, and Moon), ate lots of junk food and slept a lot- which is always a winner of a weekend, in my book.
But the highlight, I must say, was the cookout we attended at some friends house on Sunday afternoon. We hung out in their back yard space and watched the little kids (there were 6 little boys, under the age OF 6) get wet in the inflatable pool. We grilled, and drank, and snacked, and chatted. I got to hold our other friend’s 3 month old, who only cried a little. Turns out he was hungry, so I don’t really blame him. My favorite part of the evening was definitely when our host broke out the Popsicles. Ah, little boys in swim trunks, Popsicle juice all over…
their whole body.
The lowlight, was unfortunately, the compounding situation of going for a wee stroll Monday evening, after getting some “Fro-yo”, with the puppy, who’s legs have been hurting her, and ended up tromping almost 4 miles, because the trail was unmarked. This wouldn’t have been that big of deal, except for i was wearing new sandals, so my feet were BURNING by the time we got back to the car. And then, we were going to jump in the pool when we got back, except for they had closed it early! on a holiday weekend! I was all, “REALLY?!” So I sulked for a bit, then took a cool shower and watched a movie. All better.
I’ve got so much going on this week, before I head to Iowa next weekend! My job search is in full swing, and I hope to work a little for the Census this week (which will most definitely get its own post later this week).
