Rather than my usual Thankful Thursday entry, I thought I’d follow the vast Internet meme of the more general “Things I like Thursday” (or TiLT), which in this weeks case, are also things that I’m thankful for…so, you know, same difference.
It is a great solace when one is unemployed to have people in one’s life who continually want to go out for lunch, coffee, dinner, etc. It makes me feel connected and remembered (ie not totally forgotten about). It’s nice to have a friend inquire after your job search, and mean it, to have a friend offer to buy lunch out of generositys sake, to have a 2 hour coffee chat with a old friend who’ve you’ve been too busy to see otherwise, to have a breakfast get-together with a friend who’s moving and then go straight to a lunch with a new friend who’s moving into your heart.
I like seeing my friends. I like chatting about life and lessons learned. I like knowing that I am cared for. I liked getting lunch/coffee/dinner with you, let’s do it again soon.
